what you’ll need…

chair-01.png

chair

Most classes require a sturdy support for balance. You can use a high-backed chair, work surface or, ingeniously, an ironing board.

ball-01.png

ball

A soft pilates ball (7-9 inches), but you could also use a rolled up towel or deflated football.

weights-01.png

weights

A pair of 1kg hand weights are ideal but if you’re just starting out, 2 cans of beans will do nicely!

mat-01.png

mat

A standard exercise mat provides cushioning during floor exercises and help improve grip and stability.

1*arms & abs

Confession… not really a barre class. The focus is on your arms and, you guessed it, your core. Caution: tiny weights may be heavier than they appear.

The core work is heavily influenced by pilates and different options are offered to suit all fitness levels.

Streams on Mondays, 6am (30 minutes).

2*

cardio barre

Here’s the pulse racer/fat burner class. Lots of barre moves combined with more traditional cardio exercises to elevate the heart rate and find that burn.

Co-ordination likely to be challenged! Endorphins guaranteed.

Streams on Wednesdays, 6am (30 minutes).

3* express barre

The modern day equivalent of legs, bums and tums with some arms thrown in for good measure.

Top-to-toe in 30 minutes. You’ll feel the burn all over. You’ll need all your kit for this one.

Streams on Fridays, 6am (30 minutes).

4*

power barre

Oooooh! This has to be my favourite time of the week. 45 minutes of lovely, lovely barre.

Getting deep and dirty with lots of tiny isometric movements to really work every inch of your body.

At least 20 minutes spent at the barre before we come away to work the butt, core and arms.

Streams on Saturdays, 6am (45 minutes).
